Joblist Placement and Career Development Center
Provided by the ALA Office for Human Resource Development and Recruitment (HRDR), the ALA JobLIST Placement & Career Development Center will be open: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Orientation will be held in the JobLIST Center on Saturday at 8:30 am.
The ALA JobLIST Placement & Career Development Center will host an Open House on Sunday, 10:30 am – 12:00 noon.
Representatives from various libraries and library-related companies will have an opportunity to talk with conference attendees about their individual work environments highlighting various aspects that make their institutions unique. All conference attendees are welcomed and encouraged to attend. There is no cost to participate in the Open House. Institutions/organizations interested in participating in the Open House should complete the "Open House Participation" form (pdf) and send it to Beatrice Calvin.
Jobseekers can search for jobs on the JobLIST website at http://joblist.ala.org/. You can attend career guidance workshops, talk to a career counselor, have your resume reviewed, and talk to employers in the Center. All services are free to job seekers. ALA membership is not required. Registration is not required to view jobs, but is recommended. It will give registered employers access to your resume information. Employers who want to post positions should post them on the JobLIST web site at http://joblist.ala.org/. Employers who want to use the interviewing facilities must have an active ad placed on JobLIST at the time you schedule an interview. You must also complete an employer interviewing registration form.
Employers who want a recruiter booth in the ALA JobLIST Placement & Career Development Center should submit a booth reservation form.
